Cutting Boards
My cutting / charcuterie boards are made from some exotic woods. One thing to remember charcuterie side is only meant for serving or display. DO NOT cut on the charcuterie side. The other side is for the cutting. It is finished with a safe oil and possible wax coating that is food safe. Both sides are food safe but only one is for actually cutting. Another thing to remember is to clean the cutting board, and every 6 months or so give it a coat of Mineral Oil. Rub it in good, let it set a awhile and wipe of the excess. This will keep your cutting board like new for many years.
Use and care guide for your cutting board. If you happen to buy a charcuterie board, one side will be for cutting and the other side for show. Tag side is for show only.
The food safe finish on my cutting board is comprised of Mineral oil and a topcoat of cutting board wax. To keep your cutting board in great shape I recommend a
generous coat of mineral oil once every six months of so depending on usage. If you wash it frequently you may want to give it a coat more often.
It is best to store the cutting board either by hanging on the hole in the board or standing on edge. This will help to keep it from warping. The idea is to allow air flow around the board.
I hope you enjoy your new cutting board as much as I enjoy making them. Your cutting board is made from some exotic woods, and each board is one of kind.
